Kevin Nash was not only devastated by Hulk Hogan’s death—he was angry that he never understood how bad things had become. Nash believed the information reaching him did not match the seriousness of Hogan’s actual condition, leaving him without a chance to visit or properly say goodbye.
Speaking on his Kliq This podcast, Nash explained that he had received information suggesting his longtime friend was doing better. The episode was released July 28, 2025, after Hogan died at 71 on July 24, 2025.
Nash said seeing a recent video of Hogan appearing upbeat in the hospital made him angry with some of the people who had been providing updates. The video had apparently been recorded only two or three days before Hogan’s death.
“I was really kind of hot with some people that I was getting information from.”
Co-host Sean Oliver asked Nash directly whether he felt that people had been “kayfabing” him about Hogan’s health. Nash agreed and explained why the situation bothered him so much. Hogan, whose real name was Terry Bollea, was only about two hours away from Nash’s Florida home. Had Nash known how serious things were, he said he would have immediately driven to see him.
“Yeah. I’m thinking, you know—and the whole thing was, especially when it first went down, I was still here in Florida. Terry’s two hours from my house.”
Nash made it clear that health precautions would not have stopped him. He would have worn a mask, remained outside or spoken to Hogan through a glass door if that was the only safe way to see him.
“I mean, I get in my car and pop over there. Even if I had to put a mask on if he was worried about germs, or talk through the fucking front door, through the glass door, through a slider.”
The missed opportunity hit Nash particularly hard because it brought back memories of two other painful losses. Nash said he did not get the chance to properly say goodbye to Scott Hall before his death in 2022.
Nash also brought up his son, Tristen, who remained alive for approximately 20 hours after suffering cardiac arrest but never regained consciousness. Those experiences left Nash wishing he could have at least told Hogan how much he meant to him.
“I didn’t have that chance with Scott, and I didn’t have that chance. My son was alive for 20 hours after he had his cardiac arrest, but he wasn’t conscious.”
“So, you know, it would have been nice to, I guess. That’s selfish on my behalf.”
Oliver pushed back on Nash calling the feeling selfish, telling him there was nothing wrong with wanting to see Hogan and tell him that he loved him. Nash’s frustration was not simply about receiving a bad update. It was about losing the chance to show up for one of the most important people from his wrestling career before it was too late.
