Kelani Jordan walked out of WWE NXT Halloween Havoc on October 31, 2026 still holding the NXT Women’s Championship, but the way she defeated Wren Sinclair is already raising questions after a controversial finish that had the commentary team calling attention to what happened.

Jordan and Sinclair went back and forth in a competitive title match, with both women exchanging strikes, submission attempts, and near falls. Sinclair came out aggressive, taking the fight to Jordan early and sending the champion crashing to the floor before continuing the punishment around ringside.

Jordan eventually turned things around by targeting Sinclair’s arm and wrist. She repeatedly attacked the injured limb, including driving Sinclair’s hand into the turnbuckles and applying a Fujiwara armbar. Sinclair refused to stay down, escaping multiple submission attempts and finding ways to catch Jordan with rollups.

Things got more intense as the match continued. Jordan removed the protective covering from one of the turnbuckles, setting up a dangerous opportunity that would eventually play a role in the outcome. Sinclair continued fighting back, connecting with an overhead butterfly suplex and several near falls that nearly ended Jordan’s championship reign.

Jordan eventually connected with a frog splash, but Sinclair kicked out. The champion later hit a 450 splash after pulling Sinclair into the exposed turnbuckle, only for Sinclair to survive another near fall.

Sinclair then locked in her Final Wrench submission, forcing Jordan to fight desperately to escape. Even when Jordan attempted to roll through the hold, Sinclair maintained her grip and continued applying pressure.

But the ending is where things got questionable. Jordan managed to escape by sending Sinclair into the top turnbuckle before catching her in a rollup. However, Jordan placed her foot on the rope for additional leverage while securing the three-count.

The commentary team repeatedly called attention to Jordan’s foot being on the rope, making it clear that the champion had used an illegal advantage to retain her title. Despite the questionable finish, the official result stood, and Jordan left Halloween Havoc with the NXT Women’s Championship still in her possession. Sinclair came dangerously close to capturing the gold, but Jordan found a way to escape with her championship, even if it meant bending the rules.

Do you think Kelani Jordan should have been allowed to retain the NXT Women’s Championship after using the ropes for leverage, or does Wren Sinclair deserve another title opportunity? Let us know what you think in the comments below.
