Karmen Petrovic’s future appears to be coming into focus after weeks of limited involvement on NXT television.
While she hasn’t been completely absent, Petrovic has mostly been seen in the background of backstage segments rather than competing regularly in the ring. Her in-ring appearances have been scarce, which raised questions about what direction WWE has planned for her next.
Throughout April, Petrovic wrestled just once. That lone match took place at an NXT live event on April 25 in Citrus Springs, Florida, where she was defeated by Kendal Grey. Her usage in the weeks prior had also been limited.
In March, Petrovic competed twice. She first picked up a win over Ivy Nile on WWE Main Event before later entering the EVOLVE Women’s Title Eliminator Gauntlet Match, where she came up short. Those appearances kept her active, but not heavily featured.
Now, new details point to what could be next for her following this stretch of reduced ring time. After inquiries surfaced regarding her role and future direction, sources revealed via BodySlam that Petrovic is expected to step back into the spotlight soon through EVOLVE, with additional opportunities potentially outside WWE television.
“We have received a few inquiries regarding Karmen Petrovic and what's next. Sources indicate to Bodyslam that Petrovic will have a match against Nikkita Lyons in the next few weeks on EVOLVE. Another source indicated that there have been talks of Petrovic doing some work in Lucha Libre AAA as well before slowly transitioning back to NXT TV.”
The expected EVOLVE match against Nikkita Lyons could mark the beginning of a more structured push, especially if the AAA discussions move forward. Working outside the main NXT spotlight could give Petrovic additional momentum before she returns to a more active television role.
With her presence mostly limited to background appearances in recent weeks, these reported plans suggest WWE is lining up the next phase of her run rather than leaving her without direction.
Do you think sending Karmen Petrovic to EVOLVE and possibly AAA is the right move after her limited NXT role, or should she be featured more directly on NXT television right now? Leave your thoughts and feedback below.
