John Cena didn’t need a motivational poster speech to explain how he became one of WWE’s biggest names. His answer was short, simple, and probably not what lazy people want to hear.

During his SpaceCon San Antonio Q&A, a fan named Dalton Davis from Pearland, Texas told Cena he was his biggest role model growing up. Then he asked what advice Cena took from his early SmackDown days all the way to becoming one of the greatest of all time. Cena didn’t ramble. He gave him the formula.

“Uh, show up early, uh, outwork everybody else, and when you can, try to summon the the energy to do it with kindness.”

That’s pure Cena. Show up before everyone else, grind harder than everyone else, and somehow don’t become a complete nightmare to be around while doing it. Cena’s WWE career was never just about catchphrases and jorts. He carried the company, did the media, worked the schedule, granted wishes, and still showed up when it was time to go. That kind of run doesn’t happen by accident.

The “kindness” part is what makes the quote hit harder. Cena wasn’t just telling people to be the hardest worker in the room. He was saying try not to be a jerk while you’re doing it. That’s a pretty strong message from a guy who spent 23 years proving he could survive the WWE machine and come out the other side still respected.

What do you think about John Cena’s advice? Is outworking everyone with kindness the real key, or does that only work when you’re built like Cena? Let us know what you think in the comments.
