Joe Jonas had no problem stepping in front of a packed WrestleMania crowd — but John Cena is what actually made him nervous.

After kicking off WrestleMania 42 Night Two with the national anthem, Jonas shared a surprising behind-the-scenes moment during his vlog on April 21, 2026 — and it had nothing to do with performing in front of a packed stadium.

Before revealing what actually made him nervous, Jonas explained that despite the pressure of singing at WrestleMania, that part didn’t compare to something much more personal backstage.

“I was more nervous—I was more nervous to say hi to John Cena than I was to sing the national anthem.”

He then broke down the interaction itself, admitting that when he finally approached John Cena, he didn’t exactly have a smooth introduction ready as he shook Cena’s hands and awkwardly said Priyanka Chopra speaks highly of Cena.

“I literally walked up to John Cena and I said, ‘Uh, Pri speaks very highly of you…’”

In the end, Joe Jonas handled the limelight just fine on stage, but backstage, even he had a fan moment. And when it came down to it, saying hello to John Cena turned out to be the most nerve-wracking part of the whole experience.

So what do you think — would you be more nervous performing at WrestleMania or meeting someone like John Cena face-to-face? Let us know.
