Joe Hendry has been the TNA World Champion for a while now and Hendry has always made it clear he wants to face Cena before he retires this year. In fact, Hendry has now teased a massive tag team match against John Cena.
While speaking to Ariel Helwani, Joe Hendry hinted at the possibility of a tag team match with John Cena. He mentioned that John Cena has Travis Scott in his corner and suggested how wild it would be if a major music star, on the same level as Travis Scott, reached out to support him.
Hendry played with the idea that maybe someone from the same genre had contacted him recently, and even mentioned the possibility of being invited to one of their concerts. He left it open-ended, saying it might just be rumors or speculation, and chose not to reveal any more.
"This is all I'm gonna say. He's got Travis Scott in his corner—can you imagine if a huge star in music just reached out to Joe Hendry? Someone in the same ballpark as Travis Scott reached out to Joe Hendry and said maybe they want to start backing me? Hey, maybe it's the same genre as Travis Scott. Hey, maybe it's just all thoughts and rumors. Did it happen yesterday? Maybe it did. Did the person say that I could go to one of their concerts… I'm gonna stop there."
John Cena beat Cody Rhodes to become the new Undisputed WWE Champion, thanks to some help from Travis Scott as well. Joe Hendry knows how to stand out, both in the ring and when talking. He’s a champion, has a big personality, and might even have a famous music star supporting him.
A match featuring Hendry and John Cena could become one of the biggest matches in a long time, even if it’s a tag team match. Since this might be Cena’s last year in wrestling, it could be a huge moment for him—and a big chance for Hendry to become an even bigger star. Therefore, we’ll have to see if that will happen this year.
