Jinder Mahal isn’t crying over his WWE exit, but he’s not pretending it ended the right way either. The former WWE Champion made it clear that getting pulled off television and then finding out it was over through a phone call was not exactly the dream ending.
During TMZ’s Inside the Ring, Mahal was asked what it would take for him to return to WWE. He said there would need to be a real plan, not just a contract and some vague promise that they will figure it out later. Mahal knows how that game works, and he does not want to sit around doing nothing while waiting for another round of cuts. That’s when Mahal admitted his WWE ending still doesn’t sit right with him.
“At the same time, I didn’t feel like I got satisfaction out of the way my WWE career ended. Just abruptly, out of nowhere, not being used for several weeks and then just a phone call.”
Mahal said he would rather have something fans can actually see. Not a quiet exit. Not a call. Not weeks of sitting at home. He wants a wrestling-style goodbye.
“I’d love to do a loser leaves town and ride off into the sunset that way.”
That is not a wild request either. Mahal came back from a release, rebuilt himself, won the WWE Championship, and had one of the strangest title runs people still argue about today. Whether fans loved it or hated it, they still talk about it. Mahal also made it clear he is not bitter. He said WWE helped him a lot and still helps him today, but that does not mean he got the ending he wanted.
For now, Mahal is moving on and building his name outside WWE. Still, it sounds like he would answer the phone if WWE had a real final chapter for him. A loser leaves town match might be the cleanest way to do it.
