Jey Uso spent months saying he never meets his online haters in real life. His recent trip through South America may have finally given him a different experience, because some fans made sure he heard exactly what they thought of him.
During WWE’s recent live event in Quito, Ecuador, fans directed “You can’t wrestle” chants at Jey. Things became even more hostile when WWE moved on to Argentina, where fans repeatedly chanted “Jey Uso se la come” at him, a vulgar Spanish phrase that roughly translates to “Jey Uso eats d**k.”
Jey clearly heard what was being thrown his way. After the shows, he took to Twitter and warned South American fans about disrespecting him again.
“YO SOUTH AMERICA DISRESPECT ME UNO MAS AGIN”
The reaction is particularly interesting considering what Jey said about his critics only days earlier. On September 3, Jey went after the people constantly criticizing him online and called them “lameass mother*****.” His point was that all of that negativity seemed to disappear whenever he actually encountered fans in person.
“I Never met a hater in real life tho”
That message came after months of Jey openly pushing back against criticism surrounding his singles run. Back in June, he even declared himself everyone’s favorite wrestler.
“I’m yo favorite wrestler”
Jey had also called himself the best “world entertainment wrestler” in the world. When that brought another wave of criticism his way, he didn’t exactly lose sleep over it.
“Why yall be so mad tho?? Ain’t my fault I’m good tho.”
This time, however, Jey didn’t have to look at his phone to find people willing to give him a hard time. Fans in Quito and Argentina brought the criticism directly to him, and judging by his response afterwards, he definitely noticed.
