Je’Von Evans hasn’t forgotten about the people who said he didn’t deserve a championship opportunity, and now he’s getting the last laugh. After capturing his first WWE title at WWE Crown Jewel 2026, Evans took to Twitter to throw some shade at his critics, using their own words against them.
Evans and Penta defeated Bron Breakker and Austin Theory to become the new World Tag Team Champions, but it wasn’t exactly a clean path to victory. Bronson Reed interfered in the match before Oba Femi made a surprise appearance and took Reed out with a massive powerbomb through a table off the stage. That gave Evans and Penta the opening they needed to finish the job and walk away with the gold.
Evans was clearly feeling himself after the win. Instead of simply posting a championship celebration, he decided to remind everyone about a particularly nasty comment that had been made about him before he ever held a WWE title. The criticism questioned why Evans was even getting opportunities in the championship picture, taking a shot at both his accomplishments and his appearance.
“JeVon Evans has won ZERO #WWE titles. WTF is his scrawny ass doing in the world title picture?!”
Well, that argument didn’t age particularly well. Evans shared the comment on Twitter alongside a photo of himself proudly showing off his brand-new World Tag Team Championship. He also included a GIF of Ice Cube and a short message that made it pretty clear he was enjoying the moment.
“😂😂😂. Aye….Gangsta.😭 “ – Je’Von Evans #TheYoungOG #TitleNumba1”
The response said plenty without Evans needing to go on a lengthy rant. Someone had mocked him for never winning a WWE championship, and now he was holding one right in front of the camera. It’s also a pretty big moment for Evans, who has gone from chasing opportunities to becoming a champion alongside Penta. Their rivalry with The Vision had gotten increasingly ugly in recent weeks, with Breakker, Theory and Reed repeatedly trying to keep them down.
Now Evans has his first WWE championship, and he’s already making sure the people who doubted him get a good look at it. Whether Evans and Penta can hold onto the World Tag Team Championships remains to be seen, but one thing is certain: the next time somebody wants to criticize Evans for never winning a WWE title, they’re going to need a different argument.
