Jake Roberts’ time with AEW is over, but he isn’t walking out the door angry. The WWE Hall of Famer confirmed he is no longer with Tony Khan’s company after spending six years around the promotion.

Roberts had been with AEW since 2020, but he hadn’t been used much on television in a long time. While speaking with Bill Apter, Jake made it clear that his AEW run has officially wrapped up, and he had nothing bad to say about Tony Khan.

“Loved it. Loved it. I just finished up working for him. I’m no longer employed by AEW. He is awesome. He really is. A breath of fresh air.”

Roberts was best known in AEW for being paired with Lance Archer. Once Archer stopped being featured regularly on AEW television, Roberts also faded from the screen. Still, many believed he might have been helping behind the scenes. That idea made sense at the time, especially after it was said back in May 2024 that Roberts had renewed his AEW deal.

Now, that deal is no longer in play. Roberts did not say exactly when his AEW contract ended or why the two sides split, but he made one thing clear: there is no heat on his end.

Jake Roberts came into AEW with a lot of history behind him, and his pairing with Lance Archer gave the company another veteran voice on television. That chapter is now closed, and Roberts seems perfectly fine with how it ended.

What do you think about Jake Roberts confirming his AEW departure after six years? Should AEW have used him more, or was it time to move on? Let us know in the comments.
