Jake Hager is getting back into professional wrestling, and JCW could be the company that puts him back inside the ring.
During a conversation on the Off the Rails podcast with Jasmine St. Claire, Hager confirmed that he has been speaking with JCW about upcoming appearances. He said both sides were attempting to lock down dates. Hager praised the promotion and said he would love to be involved in some of its upcoming events.
“I’ve definitely been talking with the guys at JCW and trying to lock down some dates coming up here. I know they have some big ones coming up. I’d love to be a part of it. I think they’re a very good promotion that is really on the up and up.”
Hager also revealed that he had a personal connection to Insane Clown Posse’s music long before the JCW discussions began.
“Deep down, 13-year-old Jake was a Juggalo. Don’t tell anybody. Whoop whoop.”
The subject came up again when Hager was asked what he would do if he eventually decided to stop competing in Power Slap. Hager explained that he already has several ways of making money outside combat sports. He owns rental property and has operated a trucking company for roughly a year.
“I have rental property. I have a trucking company that’s a year old, so I would definitely get into that. But I think in this day and age, everybody needs multiple streams of income.”
Those businesses won’t keep Hager out of the wrestling ring. Hager then directly confirmed that he intends to return to professional wrestling and again named JCW as a possible destination.
“I am definitely getting back into pro wrestling. Hopefully, I’ll be at JCW soon.”
He isn’t limiting his future to one role. Hager said he is willing to take opportunities as they come and could eventually move into coaching amateur wrestling.
“I’m just going to roll with the punches. I’m not afraid to get my hands dirty, whatever that means. I would love to get into coaching at some point, at some level. I feel like I would enjoy that.”
Hager hasn’t announced an official match or confirmed a JCW date yet, but this goes beyond vague interest. Talks have taken place, dates are being discussed and Hager has flatly stated that he is returning to wrestling.
After runs in WWE and AEW, plus his time in MMA and Power Slap, Hager could bring a lot of attention to JCW if a deal comes together.
