Jade Cargill doesn’t know what’s next after WrestleMania 42 — and that includes whether WWE will even give her a rematch for the Women’s Championship.
Cargill lost the title to Rhea Ripley at WrestleMania 42, ending a 169-day reign that she later admitted didn’t play out the way she wanted. Now, she’s making it clear that getting back into the title picture isn’t guaranteed.
Speaking on the Battleground podcast on April 24, 2026, Cargill was asked what comes next after losing at WrestleMania, and she didn’t try to dress it up, as she said, “I have no idea.” When the idea of a rematch came up, Cargill pointed out that automatic rematches aren’t exactly a lock in WWE these days — and used her own history with Tiffany Stratton as an example.
“Well, I will hope so. I mean, a lot of people don’t get rematches these days. When I defeated Tiffany, I didn’t get my rematch. So, I mean, I don’t know. It’s up to them, I guess.”
That’s a different tone from where Cargill was earlier. After losing the title, she admitted her first reign didn’t give her the kind of gritty, competitive run she wanted, despite holding the championship for months and only defending it once.
Now, instead of promising revenge or demanding another shot, Cargill is leaving it in WWE’s hands — and that makes her next move a real question mark. Bottom line: Jade wants another shot, but she knows WWE may not hand her one.
