Jacob Fatu finally acknowledged Roman Reigns on WWE RAW, but he made sure Jey Uso caught a stray before it happened.

The June 1 episode of WWE RAW opened with Roman Reigns arriving alongside The Usos after his successful title defense at Clash in Italy. Roman walked to the ring with the WWE World Heavyweight Championship as the Italian crowd serenaded him.

Roman said he had been waiting for this day because there is no day like Acknowledgment Day. Jey Uso then wanted to know where Jacob Fatu was, saying it was his first day on the job and he was already late.

That brought out Fatu, who slowly made his way to the ring. Roman told him not to drag things out because everyone knew what time it was. Jey also got in Fatu’s face and said he was moving too slow. Fatu walked right up to Jey and took the microphone from him.

Fatu admitted that he knew exactly what he was getting into at Tribal Combat. He knew what would happen if he beat Roman, and he knew what would happen if he lost. He said he has taken losses his whole life, and at Clash in Italy, he took one in front of the entire world, including his children.

Then Fatu kept his word. He said he lost to his Tribal Chief, but made it clear he did not lose to Jey Uso. Fatu told Jey to keep it real before turning his attention back to Roman.

Fatu then officially acknowledged Roman Reigns, dropped to one knee, and raised his hand. Roman shook his hand, pulled him back up, and told Fatu that he loved him. Jimmy Uso then told Fatu that he was with them now, but also made it clear this was only a warning shot.

The whole segment was built around Fatu finally accepting Roman after losing Tribal Combat at Clash in Italy. He honored the result, acknowledged the Tribal Chief, and joined the family’s side again — but his tension with Jey Uso is clearly not going away. That one line about not losing to Jey may end up being the real spark moving forward.
