Indi Hartwell isn’t hiding what she wants out of her TNA Wrestling run.
More than a year after arriving in TNA following her WWE departure, Hartwell says there is one goal that continues to drive her every time she steps into the ring: becoming Knockouts World Champion.
Speaking on the Battleground Podcast, Hartwell reflected on how different her current run feels compared to her time in WWE. According to Hartwell, this is the first time many people are truly seeing her develop as a singles star instead of being part of a faction, tag team, or storyline centered around someone else.
“I think fans are finally getting to see me on my own, if that makes sense. They’re basically seeing me grow as a singles competitor and as an individual because a lot of my NXT run, I was in a group or in a tag team or in a marriage. I never really got the chance to show me as just me.”
Hartwell acknowledged that she briefly got that opportunity during her NXT Women’s Championship run, but believes her TNA run has given her a much larger platform to establish herself individually.
“I had a short stint in NXT as champion and as a singles competitor, but the TNA audience, they’re getting to see me grow and find my feet.”
Later in the interview, Hartwell made it clear that her long-term objective has not changed since the day she arrived in TNA.
“That’s the whole reason why I’m there. That’s my main goal from the start. It’s been over a year since I’ve been at TNA. I haven’t achieved it. I’ve got the shelf ready to put the replica title back there.”
Despite coming up short so far, Hartwell said the championship pursuit remains the reason she decided to continue her journey with the company.
“I still haven’t achieved it, but it’s still the goal. That’s why I re-signed with TNA because I want to win the Knockouts World Title.”
Hartwell also revealed that becoming a TNA Knockout was a dream long before she ever signed with WWE.
“I grew up watching TNA. I grew up watching the Knockouts. I remember at one point, watching it and being like, ‘I want to be a TNA Knockout.’ So, yeah, I’m still working towards that.”
Indi Hartwell has already checked off several major accomplishments throughout her career, including winning championship gold in WWE. However, it sounds like she views the TNA Knockouts World Championship as the missing piece that could define the next chapter of her wrestling journey.
