One of the security guards who helped keep Myles Borne and Tavion Heights apart on NXT wasn’t just some random extra. There was actually a WWE prospect hiding in plain sight during the whole thing.
Following the October 27 edition of NXT, the identity of one of the security guards involved in the segment was revealed as Conan Lycan. Lycan has already built up experience on the independent scene, wrestling for promotions including CSW, WWN and HWA. More importantly, he is currently part of WWE’s ID program after receiving a WWE ID contract from AJ Styles earlier this month.
That made his appearance during the Borne-Heights confrontation a little more interesting than it initially seemed. The segment itself saw security surrounding both men as their issues finally boiled over. Heights accused Borne of being selfish, arrogant and a “backstabbing b***h,” while Borne fired back by pointing to his NXT North American Championship win over Ethan Page.
Borne then claimed Heights hadn’t accomplished anything without him and accused his former ally of leeching off his success. Heights wasn’t having that and promised Borne an ass-whopping before the two nearly started fighting, forcing security — including Lycan — to get between them. Danhausen eventually interrupted and raised the stakes, announcing that Borne and Heights will settle things in a Weapons Wild Match at Halloween Havoc.
Lycan didn’t have a major role beyond helping security control the situation, but getting him onto NXT television is another small step in his relationship with WWE. After receiving his WWE ID deal from Styles earlier this month, he has now already popped up on the company’s programming alongside established NXT talent.
