Dominik Mysterio now has his next AAA Mega Championship defense locked in, as El Grande Americano has officially been named his challenger for Triplemanía 34.
The match was confirmed during week three of Verano de Escándalo, where AAA revealed that Mysterio will defend the Mega Championship against Americano at this year’s two-night Triplemanía event. The exact night for the title match has not yet been announced.
Triplemanía 34 will begin on September 11 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Paradise, Nevada, before continuing on September 13 at Arena CDMX in Mexico City.
The match comes after Dominik used his Verano de Escándalo interview to take repeated shots at Americano. Mysterio claimed Americano could not be trusted, mocked him for becoming the “hero of Mexico” while Dominik was away, and vowed to destroy him at Triplemanía.
The updated Triplemanía 34 lineup currently includes:
- AAA Mega Championship: Dominik Mysterio (c) vs. El Grande Americano
- Vacant AAA Latin American Championship — Four-Way Match: La Parka vs. El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr. vs. El Fiscal vs. TBD
With Dominik vs. Americano now official, AAA has another major title match in place for its biggest event of the year.
