Gremlin House Wrestling has officially responded after serious allegations involving promoter Patrick “YaYa” Hutchinson began spreading across social media over the weekend.
The controversy started after an individual identified as Melissa publicly accused Hutchinson of harassment, intimidation, manipulation, repeated unwanted contact, and threatening behavior following her involvement with the New Jersey-based independent wrestling promotion. She also claimed police reports had been filed and alleged other women privately reached out to her with similar experiences.
Now Gremlin House Wrestling has issued a lengthy public statement strongly denying the accusations while claiming the situation is tied to backstage disagreements involving championship plans. In the statement released, the company directly accused the allegations of being motivated by frustration over creative decisions.
“TWe are addressing the recent accusations and false narratives being spread about our company, our talent, and our staff. It is important that the truth is heard directly from us. HIS IS ALL BECAUSE HOKA DIDN’T WANT TO LOSE THE BELT SATURDAY. The timing of these baseless allegations speaks for itself. They began immediately after championship decisions and title shot discussions.”
The company also alleged the accuser had financially supported wrestler Hoka in the past and claimed the situation was not truly about safety concerns. They claimed the situation was about agenda, influence, and protecting someone who couldn’t accept the possibility of losing.
“The same person now slandering our company paid Hoka $2,000 to go to PWJ. This wasn’t about ‘safety’ or ‘speaking out.’ This was about agenda, influence, and protecting someone who couldn’t accept the possibility of losing.”
Gremlin House Wrestling then claimed Melissa had already been removed from involvement with the company months ago following an alleged incident connected to wrestler Lance Anoa’i.
“She was officially released from working with us on January 21st, 2026, for violating company policy—an incident that resulted in Lance Anoa’i being sent to the hospital.”
The statement also claimed company lawyers instructed staff to block communication with her and alleged authorities are now involved from their side as well.
“Both our company and the venue have contacted the proper authorities regarding the ongoing harassment, false accusations, defamation, and slander. We have preserved evidence including messages, calls, screenshots, and other documentation. This matter is being handled legally and professionally.”
Gremlin House Wrestling further accused the allegations of lacking proper context and criticized the use of cropped screenshots and social media narratives.
“Cropping screenshots. Deleting messages. Spreading half-truths. None of that tells the full story. Real stories have context. Real investigations have facts.”
The company insisted the promotion will continue operating normally despite the controversy and stated that the truth will always come out.
“Gremlin House Wrestling was built on hard work, passion, and a mission to create opportunities for independent wrestlers and entertainers. We will not be distracted or destroyed by lies, manipulation, or personal agendas. The movement continues. The shows will go on. The truth always comes out.”
At this point, the allegations and counterclaims remain unresolved publicly. Melissa previously stated she has filed police reports and intends to pursue legal action, while Gremlin House Wrestling now says it is also pursuing legal avenues regarding what it describes as harassment, defamation, and slander.
Bottom line: Gremlin House Wrestling is now aggressively pushing back against the allegations involving promoter Patrick Hutchinson, claiming the accusations are tied to backstage title disputes and insisting legal authorities are already involved.
Do you think wrestling promotions should address allegations like this publicly right away, or should situations like these stay completely in the hands of legal authorities until investigations are finished? Leave your thoughts below.
