Goldberg and Triple H were not exactly best friends when Goldberg first walked into WWE, and Goldberg is not pretending otherwise.

While speaking on Going Ringside, Goldberg was asked what it was like working with Paul “Triple H” Levesque, and he admitted things were already ugly before he even got to the company. Goldberg said they had the same agent, but also had a confrontation before his WWE run, which made everything awkward from the jump.

“It was different at the time because he and I couldn’t stand each other, really. We were both represented by the same agent, and we had a confrontation prior to me going to WWE.”

Then Goldberg pointed out the part that made the whole thing even trickier. Triple H was not just another guy in the locker room. He was also married to Vince McMahon’s daughter, Stephanie McMahon, which meant Goldberg felt like he was walking into a stacked deck.

“Then, oh, by the way, he was married to Vince McMahon’s daughter. So it was kind of like me walking into an unwinnable situation.”

That comment hits a little harder now because Goldberg recently ripped WWE over how his retirement speech was handled. After a fan brought up WWE cutting off his mic, Goldberg said it showed disrespect, and when Triple H’s name came up, Goldberg did not exactly rush to defend him.

Still, Goldberg did soften things a bit here. Even after admitting he and Triple H had real heat, he said business eventually won out and gave Triple H some credit: “But I think business prevailed, and truthfully, at the end of the day, he’s a good guy.”

So, Goldberg is still clearly annoyed about how his WWE farewell went down, but he is not acting like Triple H is pure evil either. The way Goldberg tells it, they had problems, the setup felt impossible, but years later, he can at least admit Triple H handled business and is ultimately a good guy.
