Gail Kim was clearly enjoying the aftermath of the 2026 midterm elections, but one fan decided to make things personal in a hurry. What started with Kim celebrating the Democratic victories quickly turned into a shot at her interracial marriage — and the TNA Hall of Famer wasn’t about to let that one slide.

Following the November 3 midterms, Democrats secured control of both chambers of Congress while also scoring major victories in Texas, including the governor and U.S. Senate races. Kim took to Twitter after arriving in Texas and celebrated the results with a pretty simple message.

“Just landed in the BLUE state of TX 😎 it’s a beautiful day today”

One fan apparently wasn’t interested in talking about election results, though, and instead went after Kim’s personal life. The fan questioned why Kim, who has Korean heritage, married celebrity chef Robert Irvine rather than what they described as a “Man of Culture.”

“You’re a Democrat, and yet you married an Old White Man over a Man of Culture? You’re a sellout.”

Kim fired right back and acknowledged that she holds plenty of Democratic values, but she clearly didn’t see what any of that had to do with the person she chose to marry. She also laughed off the age shot, pointing out that Irvine is only 11 years older than her.

“lol I hold a lot of democratic values yes and he’s 11 years older than me so I guess we are both old according to you.”

Then Kim went straight for the fan. She made it clear that being happy with the person she considers her soulmate matters a whole lot more to her than some stranger’s opinion about who she should have married.

“If being happy with your soulmate is a sellout, then I guess I am. I dont know why you’re so concerned about who I choose to marry…. Probably bc you’re a lonely loser???”

Kim and Irvine have been married since 2012, so she clearly wasn’t interested in having her relationship turned into some kind of political purity test. She celebrated the election results, a fan dragged her husband into it, and Kim made sure the conversation got shut down with a very personal comeback.

Do you think Gail Kim handled the fan’s shot at her marriage the right way, or would she have been better off ignoring it completely? Let us know what you think in the comments.
