Funeral arrangements have now been announced for wrestling legend “Superstar” Bill Dundee following his death at the age of 82.
Dundee’s family revealed that friends, family and fans will be able to celebrate his life on Thursday, September 17, 2026, at Love and Truth Church in Jackson, Tennessee. Visitation will run from 10 a.m. until noon, with the funeral service beginning at 12 p.m.

For those who cannot attend in person, the family confirmed that the service will also be streamed live through TalkNWestTN.com. The announcement also included a lengthy remembrance of Dundee’s life outside the ring. Born William Cruickshanks on October 24, 1943, in Kirriemuir, Scotland, Dundee was raised by his mother, Helen Stewart, and grandfather, William Cruickshanks before leaving Scotland as a teenager.
Before becoming a wrestling star, Dundee worked in the circus, where he walked the tightrope and trained elephants. That unusual road eventually led him into professional wrestling and, ultimately, to Tennessee.

Dundee became one of the defining names of Memphis wrestling, spending decades as a wrestler, rival, tag team partner, booker and mentor. His legendary history with Jerry “The King” Lawler helped make both men fixtures of the territory during its hottest years. The family also made it clear that Dundee’s accomplishments in wrestling were only one part of who he was.
“While his career made him known around the world, his greatest role was that of a father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend.”
Dundee is survived by his son, Jamie Dundee, Jamie’s six children, several great-grandchildren and others who considered him a father figure both inside and outside the wrestling business.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Helen Stewart; his grandfather, William Cruickshanks; his wife, Beverly Joyce Dundee; his daughter, Donna Dundee Eaton; his son-in-law, wrestling legend Bobby Eaton; and his grandson Austin Dundee. The family closed its tribute by remembering the mark Dundee left on wrestling and the people who knew him.
“His memory will live on through the people who loved him, the stories that will continue to be told, and the lasting impact he made. As ‘Superstar’ Bill Dundee, he will be remembered as one of the best in the wrestling world. He will be missed by friends and fans across the world.”
Dundee passed away on September 6 at the age of 82 after a professional wrestling career that stretched across more than five decades. Now his family, friends and fans will have the opportunity to come together one final time and celebrate the life of one of Memphis wrestling’s most recognizable legends.
