Fans wondering where FTR has been—and whether their AEW run is winding down—finally have an answer.
The former AEW World Tag Team Champions haven’t been seen on AEW television since losing the titles to Adam Copeland and Christian Cage in an “I Quit” Match at Double or Nothing, fueling weeks of speculation about their status and their future with the company.
Now, it looks like that wait is almost over. Speaking on Fightful’s The Hump, Sean Ross Sapp revealed that Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler are expected back soon and are already planned to be in London for AEW All In.
“They’re at home. They’ll be back soon. They’re planned to be in London. They’ve got bookings in London. Contract status—they’re under contract right now.”
That should put plenty of the recent speculation to rest. FTR isn’t just expected back in AEW—they’re already booked for one of the company’s biggest weekends of the year, while Sapp also made it clear the team remains under contract.
The update comes about a month after Dax Harwood announced that he and Cash had decided to step away after spending 12 straight years without taking a real break from wrestling. Harwood admitted the two were physically and mentally exhausted, revealing he’d been wrestling through a long list of injuries before deciding it was finally time to prioritize his health and family.
Since then, FTR’s absence—and reports that they’ve entered the option year of their AEW contracts—have only fueled rumors about what comes next. But if this report is any indication, fans won’t have to wait much longer before seeing one of AEW’s top tag teams back in action.
