Sidney Akeem may be working on something with AEW and Ring of Honor, but he’s not shutting the door on WWE either.

The former WWE talent recently revealed that he is in the middle of getting a deal done with AEW and Ring of Honor. However, while speaking to Wrestling with Heart, Akeem was asked about possibly returning to WWE someday. Akeem made it clear there is no bitterness on his side: “I have no hard feelings. I have a great relationship with everyone in WWE. I am not a guy that holds grudges.”

Sidney Akeem then explained that he understands how the wrestling business works, especially when it comes to talent leaving, rebuilding themselves elsewhere, and coming back stronger, adding that the sky is the limit.

“I know that it’s a business first and I understand that there’s been many people that are much better than I am and they have been released and they have gone and made a better name or bigger name for themselves and came back and now the sky is the limit.”

Akeem added that he does not expect the business to work differently for him. Right now, his focus is on proving himself outside WWE, which he has been doing for almost three years at this point.

“So I’m not oblivious to how this business works and I don’t think it needs to change for me. I know I have to do my part and I’ve been doing that for the better part of almost three years now, proving myself on the indies.”

This comes after Akeem recently said he is in the process of getting a deal done with AEW and Ring of Honor. He has already worked matches for ROH under both the Sidney Akeem and Soleil names, and he previously said the response to Soleil in ROH felt even better in some ways than his WWE debut.

Akeem left WWE in early 2024 after the company decided to not renew his contract. So for now, Sidney Akeem appears focused on building momentum outside WWE, with AEW and ROH possibly becoming his next full-time home. Still, his comments show that the door to WWE is not completely closed if the right opportunity comes along.
