AJ Ferrari is no longer just being sought by Nebraska authorities. He is now in custody.

According to First News Alert, the former WWE NIL signee and ex-Nebraska wrestler was arrested by Douglas County authorities after investigators tracked him to a residence near Bennington. Ferrari had an outstanding Lancaster County warrant tied to felony allegations involving a pregnant woman.

The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said Ferrari was wanted on charges of assault by strangulation/suffocation of a pregnant woman in the third degree, domestic violence assault in the third degree, and first-degree false imprisonment.

Authorities said the Special Operations Group had been working tips and watching a home where Ferrari was allegedly staying. Around 10:45 a.m. Tuesday, a woman was seen leaving the residence and getting into a truck in the driveway.

Then investigators saw a man crawl out of the garage and get into the rear passenger seat of the truck. That man was identified as Ferrari. SOG investigators followed the truck in unmarked vehicles and alerted uniformed units to its location. Deputies later stopped the vehicle near 204th Street and Grand Avenue, where Ferrari was arrested without incident. Ferrari was then booked into Douglas County Corrections on the warrant.

The arrest comes after it was reported that Ferrari was being sought on felony charges tied to an alleged May incident at an apartment in Lincoln. Prosecutors claimed Ferrari dragged a pregnant woman off a bed, strangled her, pinned her down until she apologized, stopped her from leaving, and took her phone after she tried calling her mother. The woman was later taken to a hospital, where prosecutors said medical staff documented injuries consistent with strangulation.

Ferrari’s name had once been tied to WWE through the company’s NIL program, but his career has been buried under legal trouble in recent years. He signed with WWE’s collegiate recruiting program in 2021, though he never wrestled for the company.

Now, after days of being wanted in Nebraska, Ferrari has been arrested and booked. Whatever future he had in wrestling is once again being overshadowed by another serious legal case.
