AJ Ferrari is facing another serious legal situation, and this one is much heavier than a traffic stop.
The former WWE NIL signee is now being sought by Nebraska authorities on felony charges involving false imprisonment and assault by strangling a pregnant woman, according to KETV. The new allegations come after Ferrari was already arrested in Nebraska last month on charges tied to fleeing a traffic stop.
According to an arrest affidavit, prosecutors claim the incident happened during an argument at an apartment in Lincoln back in May. Police reportedly got involved after the woman’s mother said her daughter was asking for help.
The affidavit alleges Ferrari dragged the woman off a bed, strangled her, pinned her down until she apologized, and stopped her from leaving the apartment. Prosecutors also claim he took her phone and ended a call with her mother after she tried to reach out for help. The woman was later taken to a hospital, where prosecutors say medical staff documented injuries consistent with strangulation.
This is not Ferrari’s only recent legal issue. Back in June, the Nebraska State Patrol arrested him on multiple charges, including flight to avoid arrest and willful reckless driving. Reports said Ferrari ran from a traffic stop before he was chased down and taken into custody.
Ferrari’s name had once been connected to WWE through the company’s NIL program. He signed a deal in 2021 as part of WWE’s collegiate recruiting push, which gave athletes branding opportunities, financial support, and access to some WWE training resources. He never wrestled for WWE, but he was still one of the names tied to that developmental pipeline.
His past has also included other legal trouble. In 2022, Ferrari was charged with sexual battery, which led to his removal from the Oklahoma State wrestling team. Those charges were dropped in 2023 after the district attorney cited the impact of continued harassment and trauma surrounding the case.
Now, Ferrari is facing one of the most serious situations of his career, with Nebraska authorities looking for him on felony allegations involving a pregnant woman. Whatever wrestling future he once seemed to be chasing now looks completely overshadowed by the legal trouble surrounding him.
