Triple H catches plenty of heat from fans online whenever WWE makes a controversial decision, but according to a new backstage report, the people working under him don’t seem to feel the same way. In fact, it sounds like he’s got a lot more support in the locker room than some might expect.
During a recent Q&A, JoeyVotes and TC of WrestleVotes were asked how WWE talent currently feels about Triple H running creative. Joey said he’s never heard wrestlers blaming Triple H when things don’t go their way. Quite the opposite, actually.
“I’ve never heard a bad word about Triple H. Talent like him. We talked to a talent this week that praised Triple H. Triple H is never the problem. Contracts? Not Triple H. Things like that? Not Triple H.”
TC said one reason for that is because talent understand Triple H never really got much time with complete control before TKO took over. From their perspective, he’s still the guy trying to fight for the roster, even if someone else has the final say.
“That’s kind of a nice shield for him. It’s like, hey, I like you, we have plans for you, but it’s big bad TKO that’s handcuffing me. This particular talent explained to us — he didn’t really have a window where he had full control. Vince McMahon left, TKO took over. That little bit of time he had with the whole show on his shoulders — not a whole lot of time. They trust him, they believe in him.”
Joey went a step further, saying he’d estimate almost the entire roster is behind Triple H, making it very clear basicaly no one has any issue with The Cerebral Assassin.
“As far as the wrestlers that are on the talent now that he’s overseeing, I would say 95% of them have no issue with Triple H.”
TC then said that wrestlers know Triple H isn’t the one making every final decision, but they still believe he’ll go to bat for them whenever he can.
“They know he’s in a position where he doesn’t have the final say, but he’s gonna go to bat for people.”
If this is how the locker room really feels, it’s a pretty different story from the one you often see online. Fans may argue over WWE’s creative every week, but according to this report, most of the roster still has plenty of confidence in the guy leading it.
