Max Caster could be nearing the end of his AEW run, with his contract currently set to expire around October.
Fightful Select’s Sean Ross Sapp states that Caster’s deal is coming up later this year. The former AEW World Tag Team Champion has not wrestled for the company at all in 2026 and has instead been staying active on the independent scene.
Caster has also not been seen backstage very often in recent months, adding even more uncertainty to his future with the company. There is no word on whether Caster and AEW have started negotiating a new contract or if either side is interested in extending the relationship.
Caster found his biggest success as one-half of The Acclaimed alongside Anthony Bowens. The team captured the AEW World Tag Team Championship before later winning the Trios Championship with Billy Gunn.
The group became one of AEW’s most popular acts, but Caster’s absence throughout 2026 has left his status hanging in the air. With October getting closer and no extension known to be on the table, Caster could become a free agent unless something changes behind the scenes.
