TNA Wrestling is bringing back one of its most iconic matches for the company’s biggest event of the year.
During the May 14 episode of TNA iMPACT!, commentary confirmed that an Ultimate X match for the X Division Championship will take place at Slammiversary on June 28. The announcement happened during the main event match between Leon Slater and Cedric Alexander in a Best 2 out of 3 Falls match for the X Division Championship.
Slammiversary 2026 is set to take place at the Agganis Arena in Boston, Massachusetts, and the addition of Ultimate X instantly gives the card one of TNA’s signature attractions.
Ultimate X has long been tied directly to the history of TNA’s X Division and is considered one of the company’s most dangerous and chaotic specialty matches. The last Ultimate X match took place at TNA Rebellion in 2025, where Moose retained the X Division Championship against El Hijo del Vikingo, K.C. Navarro, Leon Slater, Matt Cardona, and Sydney Akeem.
At this point, TNA is clearly stacking Slammiversary with one of the company’s most recognizable match types as they build toward their biggest show of the year.
