AEW tried to wish Kamille a happy birthday, but the post ended up reminding fans of a completely different question — where the hell has she been? The former NWA Women’s Champion has barely been seen on AEW television this year, and fans wasted no time calling the company out over it.

AEW posted a birthday message for Kamille on Twitter on October 24. Instead of simply joining in with birthday wishes, plenty of fans immediately turned the replies into a discussion about her lengthy absence from television.

One fan couldn’t understand how Kamille managed to disappear from AEW programming all over again after finally returning earlier this year: “I don’t understand how she disappeared again.” Another fan went directly after Tony Khan and demanded an answer about Kamille’s whereabouts.

“@TonyKhan Where is she???????”

Some fans were apparently surprised to even be reminded that Kamille remains part of AEW. One questioned whether she was actually still on the company’s roster.

“She’s still on the roster?”

Another fan took things a little further and openly mocked the fact that Kamille is still employed by AEW despite barely appearing: “She still works there? LOLOLOLOLOL.” One reply even turned AEW’s birthday message into a joke about how much time Kamille has spent away from television.

“Happy birthday. I’m glad you got two years off for your birthday present from AEW. 🤷‍♂️”

The reaction comes after Sean Ross Sapp recently confirmed during a Fightful Q&A that Kamille is still under contract with AEW. He also said there hasn’t been a long-term creative plan for her since she was originally removed from television during her storyline with Mercedes Moné.

“She’s still under AEW contract.”

Kamille briefly returned at Dynasty on April 12, attacking Willow Nightingale backstage before defeating Big Anne on the Zero Hour pre-show. Three days later, she lost to Nightingale in a TBS Championship match on Dynamite and disappeared from AEW television again.

According to Sean Ross Sapp, that short comeback was essentially what AEW had planned for her at the time. Kamille was brought back to pick up a quick victory before putting over Nightingale, rather than to begin another extended run.

“There was never a long term plan for her after she was taken off TV for the Mercedes angle ever. They brought her back to get a quick win and put over Willow in her challenge. That’s it. There’s never been a long term plan.”

Kamille has remained busy with projects outside AEW, but her wrestling appearances have been extremely limited. Her only match since losing to Nightingale came for Diamond Championship Wrestling, with the bout airing in August.

AEW’s birthday post certainly got people talking about Kamille again, just probably not in the way the company expected. With her still under contract but nowhere to be found on television, fans clearly haven’t forgotten about her absence.
