Enzo Amore might be heading back to WWE after all — and there’s now talk within the company that the former Cruiserweight Champion has already signed a new deal.
According to PWInsider, there’s a belief among some in WWE that Amore signed a contract within the past week. While his return hasn’t been confirmed, the possibility of seeing him back on WWE television is getting a lot more interesting.
One source indicated that Amore could be headed to NXT if everything comes together. That would put him on the developmental brand rather than immediately returning to the main roster, where he previously found success alongside Big Cass.
And this didn’t exactly come out of nowhere. Amore has been connected to WWE return rumors for months. Earlier this year, there was talk that he had been communicating with WWE about a possible comeback. He was also said to have been spotted at the WWE Performance Center in May, which only added to the speculation about his future.
Of course, things got even more interesting when his former tag team partner, Big Cass, returned to WWE earlier this year.
A reunion seemed like a possibility at the time, especially considering how popular Enzo and Cass were during their original run together. But Cass came back without his longtime partner and has since taken a completely different direction.
Cass is now working as a heel on Monday Night RAW alongside Ethan Page. The two recently teamed up to defeat Chad Gable and Dragon Lee on the October 26 episode, making it clear that Cass has already found his place on the roster without Enzo.
That leaves plenty of questions about where Amore would fit if WWE brings him back. An NXT run could give him an opportunity to establish himself again before any potential involvement with his former partner.
For now, WWE hasn’t announced anything concerning Amore’s status, and PWInsider is still working to confirm whether a contract has actually been signed. But with his name coming up internally and NXT being mentioned as a possible destination, his return is certainly worth watching.
