El Hijo del Vikingo has shared a disappointing update on his road back to the ring. Just weeks after saying he was seven months away from returning, the AAA star revealed he’ll be undergoing another knee operation.

On October 6, Vikingo took to Instagram to inform fans that he’ll be back under the knife as he continues recovering from the torn ACL that has kept him sidelined for months.

“Unfortunately, Mr. HDLV will be undergoing another knee operation tomorrow. Thank you all for your support 🙏🫵✊”

Vikingo didn’t reveal why another procedure is necessary or whether it will affect the recovery timeline he previously shared. Last month, he said he believed he was about seven months away from returning and had been regularly posting positive updates from his rehabilitation.

The former AAA Mega Champion has been out of action since suffering the knee injury earlier this year, forcing WWE to pull him from a scheduled AAA Latin American Championship defense on NXT. He later underwent ACL surgery and has spent the past several months documenting his rehab while thanking WWE, AAA, his therapists and his family for supporting him throughout the process.

For now, it’s unclear whether this latest surgery is simply part of his planned recovery or an unexpected setback. Fans will likely be hoping for another update once the procedure is complete and Vikingo has a clearer picture of when he’ll be able to resume rehab.
