Speaking about Ronda Rousey’s introduction to the WWE Universe, Christian says he thinks it was smart to debut her as a babyface because if she debuted as a heel fans would have cheered her anyway. Edge agrees, pointing out that the rub from Kurt Angle is beneficial as well, and this is a long term investment for WWE.
A listener writes into the show and asks Edge and Christian how much impact referees have in the development of matches. Christian says it all depends on the situation. Edge adds that it’s an amazingly hard job and when you don’t notice the referees that means they’re doing a great job.

Another listener writes into the show and asks Edge and Christian if they’d ever consider returning to WWE programming in an authority figure role. Christian points out that it’d certainly be interesting, and if his schedule lined up he’d probably give it a try. Edge doesn’t think he’d be interested in that kind of role because he’d hate to be pigeonholed into the typical WWE “authority figure” role. If he could approach things somewhat differently, like Mick Foley did during his initial run as RAW Commissioner, then maybe he’d be more interested in that role.
That sums up this week’s episode of E&C’s Pod of Awesomeness. You can listen to the show yourself anytime here, and I’ll catch ya next week for another recap!
