Drew McIntyre’s WWE return is still up in the air, but his agent just teased that the former WWE Champion has another movie project in the mix.
McIntyre has already been linked to multiple film roles during his time away from WWE, and now Nick LoPiccolo is hinting that fans still have not heard everything. He took to Twitter/X and said Drew has another movie “in the can,” but he was not ready to spill all the details.
“Drew secretly has another movie in the can too. That one hasn’t even started annoying people yet. The ledger keeps getting uglier, but let’s not ruin all the surprises.”
That is a pretty clear tease. LoPiccolo is saying McIntyre has another movie role that has not been fully revealed yet, which only adds more attention to what Drew has been doing outside WWE.
McIntyre was recently attached to Russell Crowe’s upcoming action movie The Last Druid, which is filming in Spain. The cast also includes Stacy Clausen, Pablo Derqui, and Crowe’s son, Tennyson Crowe.
The Last Druid puts Crowe back in Roman Empire territory 25 years after Gladiator. The movie follows a Roman Emperor who discovers a hidden Druid stronghold in the mountains of Caledonia. Crowe plays a peaceful Celtic elder who is forced to fight to protect his family and his people.
McIntyre also worked with Crowe on Amazon MGM’s Highlander reboot, so this is not looking like a one-off acting gig anymore. Drew is stacking up film credits while he remains away from WWE television.
There had been talk online about McIntyre possibly returning in time for SummerSlam, but we earlier reported that nothing has been on the table for him creatively in WWE. That does not mean he is gone for good, but there has not been a creative return plan in motion or any that is known of.
Now his agent is teasing another movie on top of Highlander and The Last Druid. That keeps the focus on McIntyre’s growing acting résumé instead of a WWE comeback. McIntyre built himself into one of WWE’s biggest stars, but right now his name keeps coming up in movie news. Whether WWE brings him back soon or not, his next chapter outside the ring is clearly getting more interesting.
