Drew McIntyre just popped up somewhere that’s going to get WWE fans talking. After spending months away from television, the former WWE Champion was recently spotted at WWE headquarters in Stamford, Connecticut.

According to PWInsider, McIntyre was at WWE HQ for meetings with company officials and to film promotional material tied to WWE’s upcoming “micro dramas.” Those projects are said to also feature names including Jacob Fatu and Joe Hendry.

That doesn’t mean Drew’s television return is officially locked in, but it’s easily one of the strongest signs yet that he’s getting back into WWE’s orbit after months away.

McIntyre hasn’t appeared on WWE programming since losing to Jacob Fatu at WrestleMania XLII in April 2026. His extended absence has been tied to outside projects, including work on the Highlander reboot and the Russell Crowe historical drama The Last Druid.

Ringside News previously covered how McIntyre’s WWE absence was connected to his growing Hollywood schedule, while his agent made it clear that WWE remained his priority despite the acting work.

Things started getting more interesting when McIntyre returned to the United States after wrapping up some of those commitments. At the time, there still weren’t any creative plans locked down for his comeback, meaning being back in the country didn’t automatically mean he was headed straight back to WWE television.

Sean Ross Sapp later said McIntyre had admitted he missed wrestling and wished he could have worked WWE’s South American tour. Sapp also noted that Drew was still training in the ring and looking physically ready, even though there was no return date.

“He said that he really missed wrestling and he really wished that he could have worked a South American tour.”

McIntyre then added fuel to the fire himself by posting footage of himself running the ropes on September 25 with a one-word caption.

“Reps.”

Now he’s been seen inside WWE headquarters meeting with officials and filming company material. That still isn’t the same thing as WWE announcing Drew McIntyre’s return date, and there’s no confirmation yet that creative plans have been finalized. But after months of movie sets, training clips and no television appearances, Drew physically showing up at WWE HQ is a pretty hard development for fans to ignore.

McIntyre has been away for months, but he’s clearly not disconnected from WWE. Between the training footage, his own comments about missing wrestling and now a trip to company headquarters, the pieces are starting to move — even if WWE hasn’t revealed when the Scottish Warrior is walking back onto television.

When do you think Drew McIntyre should return to WWE television, and who should be waiting for him when he does? Let us know your thoughts and feedback in the comments.
