Drew McIntyre just gave fans their first look at the character keeping him away from WWE television—and he looks ready for war.
On July 25, 2026, McIntyre took to Twitter/X and posted a photo from the set of The Last Druid. The former WWE Champion appeared shirtless in a dry field while wearing dark medieval-style pants, boots, wrist guards and sunglasses. McIntyre did not offer any details about the scene or his role. Instead, he let the image do the talking with a one-word caption.
“Cinema.”
The photo confirms McIntyre is still deep into work on the Russell Crowe action movie after fans recently wondered whether his WWE return was getting closer.
That speculation started when McIntyre briefly returned home and posted footage of himself training in the gym. His agent, Nick LoPiccolo, quickly made it clear that Drew was only home for a short break before heading back to the movie set.
“Drew is still filming his movie The Last Druid. He came home for a weekend, but he is already back to filming.”
McIntyre’s new photo now gives fans a better idea of what he has been working on during his absence. While details surrounding his character remain under wraps, the rugged look appears to fit the movie’s warrior-driven setting. McIntyre has also been connected to Amazon MGM’s Highlander reboot alongside Crowe, making it clear that his acting career is becoming more than an occasional side project.
There is still no confirmed date for McIntyre’s WWE return, but his latest post shows exactly why he remains off television. Drew is still filming The Last Druid, and fans have now received their first glimpse of the character he will bring to the screen.
