The May 19 episode of NXT saw the brand continue its reset after the main roster took so many top Superstars. There are many Superstars who want to show off for the developmental brand, and fans saw a double debut this week.
Romeo Mareno made his NXT in-ring debut this week against Tristan Angels, a man who was also making his debut on the show. This was certainly an interesting situation.
The two international wrestlers wanted to prove their worth in NXT. Neither of them was about to back down. Mareno, who represented Madrid, Spain, showed off his killer speed with a few quick moves.
At the same time, Tristan Angels hails from England. He goes by the moniker of Mr. English, and he represented that proudly with his gimmick.
Although Tristan Angels didn’t have anyone in his corner, Noam Dar did stand by Mareno during the match. Shilho Hill sat in the crowd during this match, and he mocked Angel a bit while he posed with Romeo before a commercial break. When we came back from the break, the two new Superstars were trying hard to make a good first impression.
In the end, Tristan Angles was able to pull off the big win with a clean pin. Then he had a bit of a promo battle with Shiloh Hill in the crowd. Hill was starting his campaign to become Mr. NXT, and Angels didn’t like that at all.
Tristan Angels started off his in-ring career on NXT television with a victory, and only time will tell how many more he will get.
