Dominik Mysterio couldn’t even make it through the airport in Mexico City without getting surrounded. Fans came armed with photos, merchandise and plenty of autograph requests, but one person made the mistake of handing Dominik a picture of his father.
Ahead of TripleMania 34, footage showed the AAA Mega Champion being swarmed by fans at the airport. Dominik stopped to sign several items as the group continued following him and putting more things in front of him. Things took a turn when someone handed Dominik a photograph of Rey Mysterio. Dominik took one look at his father and immediately tossed the photo away.
“Oh, that photo is of my dad. What the hell does he want me to do with my dad’s photo?”
Dominik wasn’t refusing everyone. He stopped long enough to sign another fan’s cast while the autograph requests continued coming from every direction. One fan, however, had apparently already gotten more than enough from him. When that person came back looking for another interaction, Dominik called him out instead of giving him another photo.
“I’ve already taken about four photos with this a**hole.”
It’s a very different scene from another fan encounter involving Dominik earlier this year. During WrestleMania 42 week, he was approached outside his hotel by fans looking for photos and autographs. Dominik ignored them and kept walking, leading one frustrated fan to yell that fans had “made” him.
This time, Dominik actually gave the Mexico City crowd plenty of his time. Signing a cast was apparently fine, and even multiple photos were possible. Handing him a picture of Rey Mysterio was where someone should have known better.
Dominik has bigger business waiting for him now that he’s in Mexico City. He is set to defend the AAA Mega Championship against El Grande Americano at TripleMania 34 Night Two, but fans made sure his first battle of the day was simply getting through the airport.
