Chris Masters says Diddy may have been a major star when he showed up in WWE, but that did not mean he won over the locker room.

While speaking to Inside the Ring, Masters said Diddy made a bad impression backstage because some wrestlers felt he came off way too full of himself during his WWE appearances.

“He just, he made a bad impression on the boys. Everybody just thought he was so full of himself kind of.”

Then Masters explained the detail that apparently pushed people over the edge. According to him, Diddy had an assistant follow him around with a rare pair of shoes sitting on a pillow.

“But the main thing was, and Diddy apparently had gotten some really exclusive rare, I don’t know if it was Jordan’s or something, but he had his assistant carrying it around on like this fluff pillow just trailing behind him the whole day.”

That kind of entrance might fly in the music world, but Masters said it did not exactly play well around wrestlers. WWE locker rooms have seen plenty of huge egos, but even there, the shoe-on-a-pillow routine apparently felt like a bit much.

“You know, say what you wanted about wrestlers, but, I mean, you know, to them that just came out, that was a bit too much.”

Diddy had a few big WWE moments in the early 2010s. He performed at Tribute to the Troops in 2010, appeared at WrestleMania 28 in 2012 to introduce Machine Gun Kelly, and later performed at WrestleMania 29, where “Coming Home” was used as one of the show’s theme songs.

Now Masters is giving fans a different story from behind the curtain. The public saw the celebrity performance and WWE promotion. The wrestlers, according to him, saw an assistant carrying shoes around on a pillow all day. That is the kind of backstage detail people do not forget.
