Diamond Dallas Page has one of the most unusual success stories in professional wrestling, and Hollywood has already shown interest in bringing that journey to the screen. The problem is that DDP hasn’t found a script that he believes does his story justice.

During an appearance on TMZ’s Inside the Ring, the WWE Hall of Famer was asked whether he would consider a biographical movie about his life. The question came up after the hosts mentioned a movie project being developed around fellow wrestling legend Sgt. Slaughter. DDP didn’t dismiss the possibility. Instead, he revealed that people have already written scripts about his life, but none have impressed him enough to make him believe they captured his journey properly.

“Believe it or believe it or not, I’ve had guys write scripts and, you know, and I’ve never seen anything that were like, ‘Oh my god, this is great.’ You know, but I’ve seen I’ve seen some, you know, touches of it. It’s, you know, it’s my story is so different. You would have to just take a section of it because how Diamond Dallas Page ever came to be really never should have happened, but it did.”

DDP explained that the biggest challenge would be deciding which part of his life deserves the spotlight. Unlike many wrestling stars who entered the business at a young age, Page took a completely different path, spending years in the nightclub business before eventually finding his way into professional wrestling. He then recalled how his early involvement with wrestlers began through his nightclub, where personalities like Jake Roberts would regularly show up. DDP painted a picture of those wild early days, including a memorable encounter involving Ted DiBiase and a bottle of tequila.

“And it was started out as me being, you know, drunk, you know, in in in my nightclub and uh and Jake showing up at my, you know, at the club and and the wrestlers started to coming in and out like I have a picture of Ted Deiosi at my house in Atlanta where I’ve got him back like this and I’m holding a bottle of tequila and just streaming upside [laughter] down shooters that we were doing with each other.”

Those experiences eventually helped DDP establish connections in the wrestling business, setting him on a path that would lead to becoming one of WCW’s biggest stars. It’s a journey that included his transition from managing wrestlers to competing in the ring, winning championships, and later building DDP Yoga into a successful fitness program.

Although DDP wasn’t convinced by the scripts written about his own life, he had nothing but praise for the idea of a Sgt. Slaughter biopic. He believes Slaughter’s wrestling career and ability to connect with audiences would make him an excellent subject for a movie.

“But um yeah, if if it ever happened, I think Sergeant is a great guy to do a pick on, you know. I mean, Sergeant is a I mean, great worker, a great he knew how to do it. It was incredible for a big guy. He’s 6’4.”

DDP made it clear that the idea of a movie about his life isn’t something new, but finding the right approach remains the biggest obstacle. With a career that stretches from nightclub ownership to WCW stardom and helping other wrestlers rebuild their lives, there’s certainly no shortage of material. The question is whether someone can finally turn that story into a script that DDP believes is worth making.
