AJ Francis tried to defend TNA, but he ended up getting checked by Deonna Purrazzo and Myla Grace.
It started when Francis called out the dirt sheets after TNA announced Allie had signed with the company. Francis said wrestling media should cover good TNA news just as loudly as they cover releases and exits. He also brought up Tasha Steelz re-signing with the company.
“Make sure yall report this and Tasha re-signing as loudly and proudly as yall report people being granted their release that they asked for.”
Then a fan asked why Francis had not talked about why so many TNA wrestlers asked for their releases. Francis answered by saying those wrestlers can tell their own stories.
“Cuz they tell their own stories.”
Then he started listing reasons anyway. Francis claimed Steph DeLander wanted to wrestle but TNA would not medically clear her. He said Myla Grace was “not on TV.” He also said Steve Maclin “doesn’t like creative after being champ for 216 days of the year.” That is where Deonna Purrazzo stepped in. Purrazzo, who is married to Steve Maclin, called the post passive aggressive and told Francis not to speak for other wrestlers.
“This is incredibly passive aggressive. Let people tell their stories and don’t do this sht.”*
Francis fired back and said he had already spoken to Maclin directly.
“I talked to Steve like a man. I’m only speaking facts.”
Purrazzo still was not buying it.
“He doesn’t need you to spew ‘facts’ on social media.”
Francis then tried to shut the whole thing down.
“This social media s*ht don’t mean nothing.”*
Myla Grace also jumped in after Francis brought her name up. She said his version of her situation was not right.
“Lots of love but this isn’t accurate.”
Francis replied that he knew that, and said that was his whole point because people online do not know the real stories.
“I am aware. As we have talked many times about it and that’s my point. THEY don’t know either but they pretend they do.”
Indi Hartwell also reacted by posting a GIF of one man snatching a phone out of another man’s hands. That pretty much said it all.
Francis wanted the media to stop only focusing on TNA’s bad news. That part was clear. The problem came when he started naming wrestlers and giving reasons for their exits. Deonna Purrazzo and Myla Grace made it clear they did not appreciate that.
So now the story is not just about TNA signings or releases. It is about AJ Francis defending the company, dragging other people’s situations into the conversation, and getting called out for it.
