Darby Allin has no plans to slow down, even if he becomes a father. The AEW star, who has built his entire reputation around dangerous stunts and brutal bumps, made it clear that having children someday won’t suddenly change the way he approaches wrestling or life.
While speaking to ESPN, Allin was asked whether becoming a parent would eventually force him to tone down the risks he takes both inside and outside the ring. According to Darby, the answer is simple — absolutely not.
“Will having kids of my own change me and make me tone it down? No, I don’t believe so.”
Allin explained that he actually wants future children to grow up seeing someone who refuses to slow down just because of age or responsibility.
“The moment I have a kid, I want to keep showing them that there’s no age limit that says you must calm down.”
Darby then took things even further by explaining he would rather inspire his children through adventure and risk-taking instead of playing life safe.
“Who am I if I’m playing it safe with my 5-year-old? That’s not Darby Allin.”
The AEW star even painted a wild picture of the kind of parent he believes he’ll become someday.
“But if I’m strapping the 5-year-old to a Can-Am and going on some jumps? That’s who I am.”
Darby finished by explaining that his ultimate goal is giving his future children the confidence he never had while growing up.
“I want my kids to have the confidence I never had growing up.”
Allin has become one of the most fearless performers in wrestling thanks to his willingness to throw his body into insane situations, whether it’s crashing through glass, diving off massive ladders, or taking dangerous risks outside the ring in his personal life. Based on his latest comments, it doesn’t sound like that mentality is changing anytime soon.
Do you think Darby Allin should eventually tone down his dangerous style, or is that risk-taking exactly what makes him stand out in AEW? Let us know your thoughts and feedback in the comments below.
