Damian Priest and Lola Vice may not always be on the same road schedule, but Priest says that is exactly why their relationship works.
While speaking to Chris D Comedy, Priest was asked whether his girlfriend travels with him and how they manage dating while both of them are living the WWE grind. Priest explained that Lola being a wrestler makes things a lot easier, because she already understands the travel, the time away, and the weird schedule that comes with the business.
“So she’s a wrestler, too. So we don’t have the same exact schedule, but sometimes they coincide. And that’s cool because then it’s just easier, you know, we’re just around.”
That is the part Priest seems to appreciate most. They may go stretches without seeing each other, but it is not the kind of problem where one person has to explain the lifestyle over and over again. Lola is doing the same thing, just on her own schedule.
“But it comes with it. And I think it’s easier because she’s in the business and she understands because she’s doing it. So it’s the same thing. She goes on the road and I’m home and I don’t see her like she’s away. So it’s kind of cool because I understand.”
Priest said that removes a lot of the tension other couples might deal with when one person is constantly gone. There is no “you’re never home” argument because both of them already know what the job demands.
“So we don’t have that issue that I would think other couples would have where it’s like, ‘Well, you’re never home.’ It’s like, well, this is the job. At least she gets it. And when we do have time together, we’re perfectly happy. You know what I mean?”
Then Chris Distefano asked if Priest’s girlfriend was also Latina, and Priest confirmed he was talking about Lola Vice: “She’s spicy Cuban. She is Lola Vice from NXT.”
The comments come after Priest previously said he would be open to bringing their real-life relationship onto WWE television if it actually helped the product. He made it clear he is not against the idea, but he does not want Lola reduced to just being “Damian Priest’s girlfriend” either.
“I think, especially now with social media, the show Unreal, and everything in between—if it benefits the show, I’m all for it. All that stuff works, you know—especially if it’s not forced, and if it’s done the right way, I’m all for it. And we’ve talked about it, and it’s like—it’s possible one day.”
So while fans may eventually see WWE use their relationship on television, Priest seems more focused on keeping things balanced off-screen. Lola understands the road because she lives it too, and that appears to be what makes the relationship work.
