D-Von Dudley has heard people calling Chelsea Green “injury-prone” after her broken orbital bone, and he thinks they might want to check the facts before burying her. Green has certainly been hurt before, but D-Von says her history of actually returning from those injuries tells a different story.

While speaking on the D-Von and The Duke podcast, the conversation turned to Green’s injury history after Duke pushed back on the perception that she simply can’t stay healthy. D-Von didn’t need much convincing.

“Well, again, that’s why people need to keep their mouth closed and get their facts right before they start opening it up and start burying somebody because they don’t know the whole story.”

Green has dealt with multiple injuries, but D-Von pointed towards how quickly she has been able to work her way back rather than spending years on the sidelines.

“And again, Chelsea has gotten hurt, but how long has she been out? She hasn’t been out that long. She comes back. She gets hurt, she comes back. You know, it’s not like she’s been out for a year, year and a half, two years or anything like that.”

Dudley thinks people throwing around the “injury-prone” label without considering that are simply burying Green without knowing the facts is unfair.

“So again, people need to get their facts straight before they start opening their mouth and burying somebody and saying things that they don’t know anything about.”

Green suffered a broken orbital bone during a recent SmackDown tag team match when Lainey Reid came down on her head during Fatal Influence’s Rolling Encore finisher. The spot looked relatively normal on television, but Green ended up in the emergency room afterwards. That injury has now put her WWE Women’s Championship reign on a clock.

During the August 14 edition of SmackDown, Nick Aldis revealed that WWE medical officials wouldn’t clear Green to compete with a broken eye socket and initially asked her to surrender the title. Green refused and pleaded for more time, leading Aldis to give her 30 days to receive medical clearance. Green now has a month to recover before WWE potentially has to make another decision about the championship.

D-Von doesn’t know how quickly that will happen. But he clearly isn’t interested in seeing Green’s latest setback turned into another excuse to label her entire career.

What do you make of D-Von Dudley pushing back on Chelsea Green being called “injury-prone”? Do you think she’ll be cleared before her 30-day deadline? Let us know in the comments below.
