Chelsea Green has 30 days to get medically cleared if she wants to keep her WWE Women’s Championship.
During the opening segment of the August 14 episode of WWE SmackDown, Nick Aldis told Green that he had spoken with WWE medical officials and could not allow her to compete with a broken eye socket. Aldis then asked Green to give up the WWE Women’s Championship, which immediately drew a loud “NO!” chant from the crowd.
Green pleaded with Aldis to give her more time, explaining how much she had sacrificed to get to this point and how every difficult night had felt worth it once she finally became champion. Aldis eventually gave Green a break instead of taking the title from her on the spot. He told her she has 30 days to get medically cleared, putting a clear deadline on her championship reign.
Green suffered a broken orbital bone during a recent SmackDown tag team match, but the focus now shifts completely to whether she can get cleared before the 30-day window runs out. For now, Chelsea Green remains WWE Women’s Champion, but the clock is officially ticking.
