D-Von Dudley has heard the criticism for years—that no matter what happens in WWE, he’ll always defend the company and Triple H. Now, the Hall of Famer is setting the record straight.
Speaking on Duke Loves Rasslin, D-Von was confronted with the claim that he’s too loyal to WWE because of his history with the company. Instead of getting defensive, he flat-out rejected the label, saying people have completely misunderstood how he looks at wrestling.
“There are all people that claim that I am pro WWE… Listen, I’m not pro anybody. If people pay me, they pay me. If they do good things, I’ll say it. If they do bad things and I think it’s bad, then I’m going to say something.”
According to D-Von, that’s exactly why he refused to pile on Triple H over the Raw controversy. It wasn’t because he was protecting WWE—it was because, in his mind, nobody outside the company actually knows what happened before the show went on the air.
That wasn’t the only thing bothering him. D-Von admitted he’s grown tired of people expecting him to turn every podcast episode into a backstage exposé simply because he used to work for WWE. If fans tune in expecting gossip, he says they’re watching the wrong channel.
“Listen. Understand this, guys… I’m not there to entertain you. I’m not there to give you the gossip, juicy detail. I’m going to tell you what I feel I should tell you and what you should know. Just be glad that what I’m saying is the little bit of knowledge that you’re getting.”
Then he doubled down. D-Von made it clear he isn’t interested in proving how much he knows just to satisfy strangers online, saying he has no obligation to reveal private conversations or expose people behind the scenes simply because fans ask him to.
“I ain’t got to prove nothing to you. If you don’t want to listen, don’t listen. Go about your way, but don’t get on me because I’m not telling you exactly who it is at that particular point in time.”
Love him or hate him, D-Von isn’t changing course. Fans can keep calling him “pro-WWE” all they want, but he insists he’ll keep judging every company the same way—by what he sees, not by what social media wants him to say.
