Claudio Castagnoli was stretchered out following a brutal attack by The Cut during the AEW Dynamite episode for October 28 2026, raising questions about his immediate future on AEW television.

The incident happened during Fright Night Dynamite after tensions between The Death Riders and The Cut erupted into another brawl. Earlier in the show, Jon Moxley and Daniel Garcia lost to Jay White and David Finlay following interference from Clark Connors. Moxley later challenged The Cut to an Anarchy in the Arena Match at Full Gear on November 14.

Things got much worse later in the night. Following Marina Shafir’s victory over Rachel Armstrong and her confrontation with Mercedes Moné, Connors attacked Moxley at the commentary desk. Several members of both factions quickly became involved, with The Cut eventually getting the upper hand.

Castagnoli then rushed out and attempted to even the odds, using a garbage can to attack members of The Cut. However, the numbers eventually caught up with him. Finlay struck Castagnoli with his shillelagh, including a shot to the head, before White delivered a Blade Runner onto the exposed concrete outside the ring.

When Dynamite returned from a commercial break, AEW aired a replay of the attack and showed Castagnoli being loaded onto a stretcher and taken away as medical personnel attended to him.

The scene immediately raised questions about Castagnoli’s status, especially with The Death Riders involved in a major storyline heading into Full Gear. However, there has been no confirmation that Castagnoli suffered a legitimate injury or that AEW intends to write him off television. The stretcher angle could simply be part of the ongoing rivalry between the two factions.

With Moxley already challenging The Cut to Anarchy in the Arena at Full Gear, Castagnoli’s condition could become another important part of the storyline. For now, it remains unclear whether he will miss television time or return to seek revenge.

Do you think AEW is using this attack to write Claudio Castagnoli off television, or will he return before Full Gear to get revenge on The Cut? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
