Everyone wants to know the same thing now that Sheamus is leaving WWE: Will The Bar reunite in AEW?
Claudio Castagnoli finally got that question head-on, but if fans were expecting him to spill the beans, they were left waiting. Speaking to the Daily Star, Claudio was asked whether he’d like to see his former tag team partner join AEW. Rather than fuel the speculation, he made it clear he wasn’t about to speak for Sheamus while his future is still up in the air.
“I feel that’s not for me to talk about. I feel that is for him to talk about when he’s ready for it.”
Claudio admitted he knows the question isn’t going away anytime soon, but he still believes the decision belongs to Sheamus and Sheamus alone.
“I’ve stayed friends with him throughout. Of course, I would like to see my friends on a more regular basis, of course. But I do feel that is his to answer when he’s ready for it.”
That doesn’t mean the two have drifted apart. In fact, Claudio revealed they’ve continued spending plenty of time together behind the scenes, even joking that they’ve already started planning life after wrestling.
“Me and him have been doing a lot of training together, a lot of further education if you will… and what we eventually would really like to do is get our refereeing degree and then become the VAR.”
The answer is unlikely to slow down the rumors, especially considering how much hype there’s been around a possible reunion ever since Sheamus hit free agency.
