CJ Perry and Miro are about to take on a completely different kind of tag team adventure. The couple just revealed they’re expecting their first child together, and it comes after what Perry described as a “wild and emotional journey” with IVF.
Speaking to PEOPLE, Perry revealed that she’s pregnant with a baby boy and is currently due on April 28, 2027. She and Miro started IVF back in 2025 before finally reaching the embryo-transfer stage this past August. Perry said their embryo transfer took place on August 10, and then came nine very long days before they could even take the first pregnancy test.
“We started IVF in 2025, and on August 10, 2026, we had our embryo transfer. We were so nervous. We had to wait nine days for our first pregnancy test on August 19, followed by another on August 21 to confirm the pregnancy.”
Those few days weren’t exactly easy either. Perry admitted there was plenty of uncertainty while they waited to find out whether everything had worked.
“Those days felt like the longest of our lives! There was a lot of surrendering, letting go and trusting God through the uncertainty.”
Once they finally got the good news, telling their family and friends became another emotional moment. Perry said hearing their son’s heartbeat for the first time really drove home what they had been through to get there.
“It was the best feeling ever! After everything we’d been through, being able to share this news felt so special. The first time we heard his heartbeat, I couldn’t stop giggling. I was so full of gratitude and joy. We’ve been blessed with such a miracle.”
The IVF process itself was a roller coaster. Perry explained that every stage brought another round of waiting, from seeing how many embryos continued developing to eventually getting the genetic testing results.
“You start with so much hope. As you wait to see how many embryos continue developing through day three and then day five, the numbers can get smaller. Then comes the wait for the genetic testing results. Every stage feels like another hurdle.”
Their first embryo to receive normal genetic testing results was a boy, and that ended up being the embryo they transferred. Perry didn’t want to wait around to find out the sex either.
“Our first embryo to come back with normal genetic testing results was a boy, and he was the one we transferred. When they gave me the option to find out the sex, I wanted to know immediately! There’s so much uncertainty during IVF that I wanted as much information as possible.”
And they’ve already got a name picked out. Their son will be named Bear Petrov Barnyashev. Miro revealed that “Bear” is actually a name he had pictured for his future son a decade ago, while Petrov was chosen to honor Perry’s father.
“Ten years ago, I had a vision of naming our son Bear, and we chose his middle name to honor my father. Bear will be his first grandson.”
Miro is apparently already thinking way beyond diapers too. He joked that he has plans for Bear’s future at Real Madrid and even floated moving to Spain so their son could attend the club’s football academy. Perry, meanwhile, is simply thankful they finally made it to this point after everything the couple went through.
“We’re so excited and incredibly thankful. Miro and I have both always wanted to be parents, so being given this blessing fills our hearts with so much gratitude. After everything it took to get here, we can’t wait to meet our little boy.”
After everything Perry and Miro went through just to get to this point, they finally get to enjoy the part they’ve been waiting for. Their baby boy is due next April, and judging by Miro already plotting out a future at Real Madrid, little Bear has quite the life waiting for him.
