CJ Perry isn’t treating Bulletproof Angel like some one-and-done book project. The former WWE Superstar is already aiming way bigger, with the upcoming spy thriller tied to a book-to-film initiative before it even hits shelves.
Earlier this month, Perry announced that she had teamed up with bestselling author Blake Northcott for Bulletproof Angel, a spy thriller following CIA operative Reagan Ashe as she races across Russia after becoming the only person who can unlock a devastating superweapon.
Now comes the bigger twist. According to the latest launch announcement, Bulletproof Angel is part of a book-to-film initiative with Paradigm, meaning the project is already being positioned with Hollywood in mind. That doesn’t mean a movie is officially happening yet, but Perry clearly isn’t stopping at just getting the book onto shelves.
Perry and Northcott are also taking the rollout directly to fans. The pair will kick things off with a signing at Barnes & Noble at The Grove in Los Angeles on November 10 from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m., with tickets and event details available through the official Barnes & Noble signing page.
The following day, Perry and Northcott will head to Golden Apple Comics on November 11 at 2 p.m. for another signing appearance. Fans who want the book before the launch can already pre-order Bulletproof Angel through Barnes & Noble, where the full description of the spy thriller is also available. The book can also be pre-ordered through Simon & Schuster, Amazon and Target.
Northcott brings plenty of firepower to the collaboration. The international bestselling author has written more than 50 novels, comics and short stories, with credits including DC Comics’ Catwoman, Dynamite’s Barbarella, Heavy Metal Magazine, Weird Tales and collaborations with Evanescence frontwoman Amy Lee.
So what started as CJ Perry jumping into the spy-thriller world is already turning into something much bigger. There’s a launch tour, a book-to-film push and multiple major retailers already taking pre-orders before Bulletproof Angel officially lands. Whether Bulletproof Angel actually makes the jump from page to screen is still up in the air, but Perry is clearly setting the table for more than just a book release.
