Chris Jericho’s absence from AEW Dynamite this week just got a lot more interesting, and now there’s visual proof of what he’s been up to, as he was filming a scene for Dexter: Resurrection season 2.

New photos making the rounds online show the AEW star on the set of Dexter: Resurrection Season 2, and it’s not just a cameo walk-on. Jericho appears to be playing a victim of Dexter Morgan himself, with images capturing a full sequence where he’s confronted, injected with a syringe, and dragged away, mirroring Dexter’s signature method when dealing with fellow killers.

This marks the latest acting move for Chris Jericho, who had already revealed earlier this year that he landed a major TV role as the main villain in an episode of the CBS series Tracker. He also previously joined the cast of the Apple TV+ series Margo’s Got Money Troubles, alongside big names like Nicole Kidman, Elle Fanning, and Nick Offerman.

This also explains his recent absence from AEW. Jericho missed the April 29 episode of Dynamite, and it’s now clear he was in New York City filming this exact project at the time.

As for Dexter: Resurrection, Season 2 is already shaping up to be stacked, with Brian Cox and Dan Stevens joining the cast as serial killers, continuing the franchise’s long tradition of bringing in high-profile names, only to eliminate them in brutal fashion. Jericho stepping into that world fits perfectly, even if it looks like his character doesn’t make it out alive.

Do you think Chris Jericho’s acting run could open the door for more major roles outside wrestling, or should he stay focused on AEW? Let us know your thoughts.
