Chelsea Green isn’t letting the Michael Hayes controversy bother her anymore and even revealed how things are better between them now.

While speaking on The Early Bird Special, Green addressed Hayes’ past comments about her and said the situation ultimately motivated her instead of holding her back. Green first explained why fans connect with her journey, even though she finds it funny when people call her an underdog.

“People have had this amazing, like, they started and then they’ve just got everything they’ve ever wanted in like three years, and I’m jealous of that. But, like, the fans know my story. They relate to my story. And so they got on board with it. They’re always calling me an underdog, which I think is so funny because I feel so far removed from that title, but I understand why they call me that.”

When the hosts brought up Hayes’ comments, Green joked that they were out of line: “Blasphemous. Blasphemous things. We love Michael Hayes, but come on, man. Have some sort of, you know, know who this woman is.” Green then said the controversy only gave her more motivation: “Well, and that’s good. That’s what we love to hear. We love to hear that added fuel to the fire.”

She also made it clear that things are now fine between her and Hayes backstage: “And you guys would be happy to know that he hugs me now. He’s very nice to me. Yeah, he really pumps my tires, you know.”

Chelsea Green clearly took the situation and turned it into motivation. Hayes may have sparked backlash with his earlier remarks, but according to Green, he is now supportive backstage and the whole thing only pushed her to keep proving people wrong.
